THE ANIMAL WORLD AND AUTISM IN ART
In my paintings, I have told you that my moods are partly influenced and having twins with autism and neurodiversity respectively are part of it.
But I wanted to focus more on them, on our fascination with animals through their eyes and a little creativity.
I must say that this idea arises from a project that together with the Navarra Autism Association and Alegría Foundation we carried out in Tierra Rapaz. A project where Nora interacted with different birds of prey and saw an African owl grow, baptised Josi, which is one of the protagonists of the first painting.
Like Josi, the other birds of prey that appear in the painting have interacted with Nora, such as the falcon Harris, Valentín or the crow, Max.
At the moment the series will be six artworks. The first three with Nora as the protagonist with the animals she has chosen.
The next three will be with Paul as the protagonist accompanied by his favourite animals.
This series of six artworks is just the beginning. The possibility of expanding it is always present, depending on how our interaction with the natural world evolves and how it continues to inspire my children. My intention is to continue exploring new ways to share their unique experiences and perspectives through art.
This project not only celebrates my children’s special relationship with animals, but also seeks to raise awareness about neurodiversity and autism, showing how these experiences enrich our lives.
